Terri Hendrix has been an independent force in music since 1996, releasing her work through her own label and direct-to-fan platform. Her songs have found their way into independent films, commercials, and beyond—building a career rooted in creativity, ownership, and authenticity.

For more than two decades, Hendrix has led her acclaimed songwriting workshops alongside legendary producer and Austin City Limits Hall of Fame inductee Lloyd Maines. Now reimagined as the OYOU Songwriter’s Retreat, this experience brings that same spirit into a new, unified creative space.

Designed for everyone from beginners to seasoned performers, the retreat offers an immersive, all-inclusive approach to songwriting, artistry, and independence. Attendees gain real-world insight into releasing music in the digital age, along with hands-on exploration of production, performance, and the craft of songwriting itself.

This experience includes two 90-minute pre-workshop Zoom sessions (October 13th and 15th 7:00 - 8:30 CST) focused on the music business. Attendees can dive into topics such as booking, production, music sync, streaming, and strategies for getting their music heard in today’s digital landscape.

During the weekend in-person workshop (November 6th - 8th), participants can expect open dialogue, practical tools, and take-home materials designed to support their creative growth. Topics include alternate tunings, rhyme structure, overcoming writer’s block, breaking out of “same song syndrome,” and developing a strong, cohesive song and music catalog.

As part of the experience, the OYOU Songwriter’s Retreat offers an optional Saturday night showcase, inviting participants to step on stage and share their songs in front of an engaged, live audience.
